Skypoint was awesome! The best tourist attraction on the Gold Coast, will be recommending it to everyone. Being able to lean over the edge and the strong wind were the best part.

SkyPoint Climb Day

"On a clear day, you can see forever" - that is a line from a song, but it describes the view from the Skypoint Climb perfectly - after you get over the nerves, one of the most spectacular things about the walk is that you can see much more clearly outside the building than you can from the inside. The colours are more vibrant and the view just goes on and on. I had the perfect conditions for the climb - it was clear but a bit of cloud cover, made it not too hot and it was very calm - no wind. The beginning was interesting - safety is paramount - they make this very clear when you get your briefing and assemble your safety harness - which is an experience in itself! They make sure you are safe, and you even have to take a breathalyser as no alcohol in the system is allowed. Most were nervous, but I am lucky and have never been worried about heights and it helped me greatly - I was more worried about my stamina. We assembled and made our way to the top of the Skypoint - we attached ourselves to the safety rail and made our way out to the top of the Skypoint - we attached ourselves to the safety rail and made our way out to the first ladder - this was the hardest part getting started and one lady nearly pulled out, but after you get up onto the platform you know there is no going back so you might as well enjoy the view. We climbed steadily - I was nervous about missing a step and bumping someone who was already nervous and might panic. So I took every step with care and when I got to the top (the eagles nest) platform, I could relax and really take in the view. WOW and AMAZING is all I can say - we really do live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Going down was a bit scary and one of the ladies was really nervous and breathing very heavily. We helped each other and I found that another thing I will remember about this climb is the bravery of people who faced their fears. I hope you give it a go!
